Application procedure for ADN program to be eligible for selection process:

AAS Nursing Program General Information
ADN Course Curriculum

1. Attend nursing program information meeting.
   
   
2. Complete an application to Trinidad State Junior College at the school admissions office or on-line at Student Ed Portal.
   
3.   Student must be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate.
   
   
4. Complete the College Basic Skills Assessment (Accuplacer Test) in the Student Services Office on the OJC campus or demonstrate appropriate remediation.
   
   
5. Complete the Nursing Program general education pre-requisites (see below for the required nursing course list) with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. All sciences must be completed within 7 years of the start of the nursing program.
   
   
6. Complete the Nursing Program Application on- line at Student Ed Portal.
   
   
7. Student selections are made from the state system nursing admission list from applicants who meet all of the admission requirements in order of application completion.
   
   
8. Applications for Trinidad and Delta students should be sent to the Trinidad campus and those for Alamosa and Salida should be sent to the Valley Campus. Nursing application MUST include verification of successful completion of the minimum admission criteria listed below.
   1. Successful completion of BIO 201 or BIO 202 with a grade of "C" or better completed within 7 years of entry into NUR courses.
   2. Mathematics Accuplacer score of 55 or greater or successful completion of MAT 090 or MAT 114 with a grade of "C" or better.
   3. English Accuplacer score of 86 or greater or successful completion of ENG 090 or ENG 121 with a grade of "C" or better.
   4. Reading accuplacer score of 83 or greater or successful completion of REA 090 with a grade of "C" or better.
   5. Proof of current LPN licensure (Licensed Practical Nurses seeking Advanced Placement in the second level of the nursing program only).
   6. Submit an official college transcript from all previous colleges to the registrar.
