Hairstyle Certificate Program

Full time students meet 40 hours per week, eight hours a day. Colorado requires 1140 clock hours to be eligible for the licensing exam. The Trinidad State Junior College curriculum includes: professional ethics, bacteriology, shampoo and rinses, color theory, hair coloring techniques, permanent waving, hairstyling, hair cutting, OSHA regulations, sanitation, safety and Colorado laws.

Students will learn job entry skills, customer communication and shop procedures. Clinical practice involves working on the public under supervision and parallels, as close as possible, actual shop procedures in order to prepare students for working in the field.
