For Financial Aid, federal laws require that post secondary students must have the ability-to-benefit from instruction. The ability-to-benefit is determined by a high school diploma, GED or an independent assessment. The student will be required to show proof of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent at the time of registration.
Non-high school graduates are strongly urged to take the General Education
Development (GED) Test and earn a high school equivalency certificate. This
test is administered by the Advising Center counselors and is recognized by
the State Department of Education, potential employers, and the United States
Armed Forces.
