After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Fishery Biology (emphasis in fish culture), Ted Smith has gained over 14 years of experience in fish production management and systems design. Smith's career has exposed him to a wide variety of culture techniques and technologies commonly used in the aquaculture industry today. This experience has made him proficient in both business and seafood marketing as well.
Smith currently serves on the Colorado Aquaculture Advisory Board by appointment from the Colorado Department of Agriculture to represent the state's private fish farmers. Ted also serves as President of the and sits on the Western Regional Aquaculture Center's Industry Advisory Committee.
Through his years of supervisory experience, he too recognizes the challenges faced in obtaining competent employees capable of handling the daily demands of a fish production facility. He genuinely enjoys working with the students and providing the industry with a skilled and motivated workforce.
