Job Description: Director of Marketing
This person will report to the President of the College.
Purpose
- Coordinates all external and internal college relation activities including news releases, radio/television broadcasts, and paid advertising. This includes coordinating all college related publications including but not limited to quarterly class schedules, student handbook, student view book, graduation programs and other related publications and forms.
- Provides camera ready production to the printer when necessary.
- Works in cooperation with the administering office or agency to coordinate all publicity and publications for science fairs, career and job fairs, basketball tournaments, press conferences, special events, cultural activities such as plays, concerts, recitals, etc.
- Serves as contact for college speakers’ bureau to provide presentations and information to community groups. Serves as member of the System Communications Council and participates in meetings as necessary to remain in compliance with CCCOES Design Standards.
- Take photographs for publications, college promotional material and press releases.
- Works in cooperation with TSJC television and radio station personnel to promote the best interests of the college.
- Projects a positive image for the college in relations with students, staff, the community and public.
- Monitors departmental budget and expenditures for marketing/advertising expense.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the College President.
Director of Marketing Qualifications
Bachelor´s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or comparable related experience.
- Demonstrate high level skills in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge and experience in marketing and public information activities.
- Ability to relate well with staff, students and the public.
- Ability to plan and organize work with a minimum of direct supervision.
