ADN Nursing Faculty

Position Description

The Nursing Faculty member's duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Assume the duties and responsibilities assigned by the Nursing Program Director and the Dean of Career and Technical Education;
• Be responsible for instruction of theory and practice in the classroom, lab and clinical areas for the Nursing Program;
• Remain current with nursing regulations, knowledge and skills;
• Work in conjunction with the Nursing Program Director and the other faculty in the Nursing Program to achieve a comprehensive program including distance learning;
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary:

Full-time, nine-month contract based on experience and education.

Starting Date: As soon as possible.

Position Qualifications

Required:

1. Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN).
2. Must hold or be able to acquire a current license to practice nursing in the states of Colorado and New Mexico.
3. Must hold, or qualify for and obtain, a vocational teaching credential through the Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System.
4. Must have a minimum of one year recent experience in acute medical/surgical nursing.
5. Must be agreeable to working with a diverse population and with all ranges of student abilities.
6. Must have a strong commitment and positive attitude toward community college instruction.

Preferred:

1. Experience in nursing education at the postsecondary level.
2. The ability to be a team player in a multi-site program.

About Trinidad State Junior College

Trinidad State Junior College, located in Trinidad, Colorado, is a state-supported, two-year institution of higher education. The College was established by an act of the State Legislature in 1925, and is the oldest public two-year college in the State of Colorado.

As a comprehensive community college, Trinidad State Junior College not only offers ongoing transfer Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Applied Science (vocational) Degree programs, but also has developed and implemented numerous successful short-term vocational certificate programs, and totally inclusive adult education and developmental programs.
