Workstudy

Federal College Workstudy Program (FWSP):

The purpose of this program is to provide a means through employment, whereby an eligible student can earn funds with which to pay for educational expenses. The rate of pay is in compliance with the Federal Minimum Wage Law. Based on the amount of demonstrated need, a student could earn as much as $3,000 during the two semester college year. Through this program students may work up to 15 hours per week while attending classes and up to 40 hours per week during vacation periods. In order to qualify for Federal College Workstudy, students must demonstrate financial need. Jobs are based on individual skills, work experience, course of study, date of Financial Aid Application, etc.

Colorado State Workstudy Program (CSWS):

The purpose of this program is to provide a means through employment, whereby an eligible student can earn funds with which to pay for educational expenses. The rate of pay is in compliance with the federal Minimum wage Law. Based on the amount of demonstrated need, a student could earn as much as $3,000 during the two semester college year. Through this program students may work up to 15 hours per week while attending classes and up to 40 hours per week during vacation periods. Generally, students must demonstrate financial need to qualify for this program. Jobs are based on individual work experiences, course of study, date of Financial Aid Application, etc.

Fall and Spring Workstudy for 2008-2009

A student must be a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours) to be eligible for the workstudy program.  You must also have received a Financial Aid Award Letter stating that you have been awarded workstudy before you are eligible for a job.  You must complete a background check before you begin working and you must also be entered on the payroll system before any paycheck will be issued.  You will need to bring your signed workstudy card, a photo I.D., your social security card or birth certificate to the Payroll Department, Berg 101.  Your workstudy earnings are to be used to offset your college expenses.
